  • Steinhart MARINE CHRONOMETER 44, Roman

    ,

In the 18th Century, the carpenter John Harrison developed on behalf of the British government a precision instrument for accurate determination of longitude at sea, the first marine chronometer.
These high-precision chronometers, gimbal mounted in wooden boxes where mainly built for the Navy in Hamburg, Kiel and Glashütte. They where used on many marine vessels until the invention of the quartz movement and are highly collectable items today.
As a tribute to the craft and to be able to enjoy looking at this classic design on the wrist, Steinhart has developed the series “Marine Chronometer”. Powered by a Swiss pocket watch movement, stored in a brushed stainless steel case, you can admire the simple beauty of this instrument under the domed sapphire crystal at any time now.

  • Steinhart MARINE TIMER

    ,

This beautiful model “MARINE TIMER” was designed using historical models. The design is based on a timer for submarines and was used to stop the time the torpedoes needed to reach their target. We chose the color cream for the dial, just like the original, in order to make it easier to read. The domed sapphire glass with double anti-reflecting coating with the richly ornate manual wind-up by Unitas put this striking and unusual “MARINE TIMER” watch in the limelight. A must-have for every watch enthusiast!

  • Steinhart Marine-Officer Beige

    ,

The Marine-Officer Beige is a modern interpretation of an observer chronograph that was developed towards the end of World War II for deck officers of the Italian Navy. The wide bezel of the finely brushed full stainless steel case provides sufficient space for the engraved tachymeter scale, which can be used in conjunction with the chronograph to determine the speed of moving objects. The reduced beige dial ensures good readability, which is also given in darkness due to the indices and brushed black hands. Our Marine-Officer Beige is powered by a wonderfully decorated Swiss chronograph module caliber, the Dubois Dépraz DD 2030 which is automatically wound by our skeletonized gold rotor. This process can be observed through the stainless steel encased glass case back by gently shaking the watch. The Marine-Officer Beige is a real eye catcher, and not only on the high seas, a MUST-HAVE for ever watch-enthusiast and -collector!
